Necromancer by NikitaDarkstar Necromancer by NikitaDarkstar
Appereantly this is a Ritualist from Guild wars. (I at first thought it was a dervish or Necromancer, ohwell.)

It's my first serious work for 6-8 weeks something so I'm not completley happy with this but I gave up on fixing it since the biggest issue is the lightsource, which is part of the stock.. wich can't be sorted out without changing the background or utterly ruining it, thus ruining the feeling. Which also means I'm not overly motivated to sorting out the over contrasted skull in her hands.

Anyway I'm hoping to make a few more tags similar to this with minimal amounts of flashy effects, focusing more on the feeling of the tag.

Guildwars belongs to NcSoft ofcourse!

Was this an image you enhance or did from scratch? Either way, this looks awesome. Loving the detail and how the ethereal energy looks just like ethereal energy. Almost ephemeral in nature. Loving this pic. <3 Guild Wars. Miss playing. Can't wait until the new one comes out!

I enhanced it. I'm nowhere near good enough to digitally paint this from scratch, but thank you for the kind words. And the fact that you had to ask is icing on the cake for me since it means I got the effect I wanted. (Adding to the picture without it being obvious what was added and what wasn't.) :)

I wasn't sure and had to ask. The pose is something I've seen before, but the lighting, detailing, and background seemed absolutely unfamiliar. Especially the energy. The only thing that I recognized was the character and the pose. Its still a wonderful piece to look at. It looks completely different from the original scene.

That's pretty. I like that the green orb is actually almost the same color as the spirits from the game!
But yea, that is the Ritualist from Factions. ^_^
The Core professions are Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Mesmer, Elementalist, Necromancer.
Factions has the core, plus Ritualist and Assassin.
Nightfall has the core, plus Dervish and Paragon.

Well the colors match because the orb/skull area is part of the original stock, I just messed with them a little when I made this. I'm also well aware of the fact that this is not in fact one of the games necromancers (got one myself, along with a few others, but the nerco/elementtalist has always been my fave.) I just couldn't remember what this actually was at the time when I made it and it had that "necro vibe" going and I wasn't making a guild wars tag specifically, they just happened to have some art that suited my taste at the time. Ironically I ended up using another GW art for the companion of this )"Holy Warrior"), I guess NcSoft just has good art to go with their games! :p

Thanks for commenting. :)

ThanI like it though. It looks cooler than the game's necromancer.

Well then again, it's not hard to beat the games necromancer, I mean pale goth-emo with a bad posture? Come on. XD (Still a very, very fun class to play and combined terrifyingly well with the elementalist.. nuke them to death and raise them as minions ftw! XD)

I've seen people own face with necros. =^.^= In fact they usually keep me alive with the small army of minions!

They are (were since I don't play anymore) absurdly fun to play and very useful. I often ended up dragging mainly henchmen around so a small army of minions to assist them helped. Another fun combo was ranger/necro! :D

I personally liked the Goth chick vibe that a lot of GW's Necro armors gave off, and I'm really sorta upset that we can't get that in GW2 so much anymore (Elite Luxon was my favorite, probably because of the fishnet and the Auron-collar).  I'm also upset that we can't run around with swarms of adorable little Bone Minions anymore (yeah, I think they're cute, I know I'm weird) because GW2 seriously nerfed the whole Minion Master mechanics...

But yeah.  Minions in GW1 were overpowered and it was glorious.  I beat Factions with only the starter armor set (mainly due to oversight: I never noticed that it was basic armor cause I was wearing the Grenth costume on top and cause my minions kept me from ever dying)

Besides.  Technically, Ritualists still call up the dead, so they're TECHNICALLY another form of Necromancer, just focused more on souls and spirits rather than flesh and blood.  Necromancer/Ritualist was actually a seriously awesome combo (like I mentioned earlier, it's how my main beat Factions in starter armor), because the spirits could buff the bejeezus out of your minion swarm.

I had an Elementalist/Necromancer as my main and a Necromancer/Ranger as my backup.... lets just say they didn't have dying issues either. And yes, the minions were awesome as heck. I remember one time running around with some friends, one who wasn't very familiar with necromancers, and I had been running behind him for a while (he had a monk/warrior thing going) when we ran into some enemies and my minions just swarmed them. He stopped turned, looked at me, then actually called me up on my cell phone and went "What the heck are those?!"... I laughed so hard at him, he had considered me a bit of a glass cannon cause I was a caster.... he sort of revised that theory.

Man, now I want to go back and play some GW again, it was a fun game. I haven't touched GW2 though, kinda made it a point to stay away from MMO's nowadays.

Anyway for this sig I was more interested in capturing the feel of a necromancer, rather than making a Guild Wars Necromancer siggy (if you notice, the background actually has nothing to do with GW either, it's an Arkham Asylum wallpaper :p)
